Few pics from yesterday
FP recently brought this canvas home from school, it has been on display since last year, she was so pleased to get it back, I love all the bright colours...
A few of Jp's pics from today , I don't like to leave him out!
A great book for boys, lots of detailed illustrations as well as facts and figures, they'll be glued to it for hours..
A lovely blanket made from old PJ's for FP's Blythe doll- should keep her toasty warm on these chilly days...
JP busy at work...
spot of baking - always a winner during these rainy holidays.....plenty of help from the pirate-baker too!

Simple Sock Puppet
Crafty Crow : Simple Sock Puppet
Another simple but really fun idea, a great way to make use of odd socks, children may like to make a whole family of puppets or create a puppet show with their newly made puppets, use up old fabric scraps, buttons, yarns etc...
A great recycling project!
Here are a few we made earlier:

Sewing Buttons
Another sweet idea from The Crafty Crow :
Sewing Buttons
Younger children could maybe select their favourite buttons and make a picture using paper/felt and glue....
As a child I loved to empty my Gran's button box out and sort through them all, I'd play for hours...and still would given the chance!

Ideas for Feeding Wild Birds
Some lovely ideas for feeding the birds, our weather is still quite chilly at the mo', we had snow on Saturday in Cumbria so I think the birds would love a few treats to eat just now, I found the following link on the Crafty Crow Website, always full of great ideas!

Further Half Term Bits and Bob's
It is Tuesday already, there never seems to be the time to do all the things I plan to do....yesterday was spent getting back to normal following a weekend in Cumbria for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday...obviously 'getting back to normal' means lots of washing and puting away of junk....a lazy morning for the young ones and then they had a get together with their cousins in the afternoon while I got a bit of quiet time...FP was off to sleep over at G and G's last night so there was one less little person to tuck in last night - as a result JP and I got through even more Harry Potter than usual and he worked on some really detailed drawings, which I found fascinating, if a little difficult to understand...but then, I'm not a 9 year old boy...
Incidentally, I must stop calling my kids 'little people' etc as my eldest is now 13 and several mm taller than I am - actually soon to be 14, arghhh - where does all the time go, I had planned to be a much better mother than I am but things went a bit pear shaped along the way...all of a sudden she is wearing my baseball boots and nicking my perfume....
Anyhow, ideas for half term:
I discovered this book on The Crafty Mumma blog, it has some lovely projects inside, great for this time of year when the weather isn't so great outside....pics to follow...

Half Term Holiday Craft
Over the next few days I'm going to share some ideas/activities to do over half term with the kiddiwinks, I find lots of ideas on other blogs - lovely people happy to share their crafty-creations...
Pink and Green Mama: Kid's Craft: Recycled Box House
This is such a cute post, thought I'd share it here, my children love to make homes for creatures they've 'found' and their favourite toys. I have always encouraged little ones to create using their own ideas and to reuse/recycle.

Hectic days
One of those family days of PE kits, guitar lessons, remembering to buy ingredients for Food Tech., supervising homework, washing dogbeds and returning library books.....I did however finally get a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, so we had a lovely read before bed with a snuggle and hot chocolate!

Monster felties
A few pic's of current crafting:
Meet the latest felt creations, our little monster dolls - still work in progress but loving them so far and so are my children, JP has Christened the blue one 'Madeye' - we just can not escape the influence of Harry Potter in this house... and I'm not sure why I took a photo of a pile of felt, maybe in an attempt to shame myself into sorting and tidying it...

Spot of tidying up

Here are the current bears, partly stitched but in need of a little stuffing, cute littleValentine Bears! :
Current reading matter:
Cool books for boys!
Anyone who enjoyed reading about Harry and the Dinosaurs as a little boy will love the new books by Ian Wybrow - in the new stories Harry thinks he is too old for his bucket full of dinosaurs but they prove him wrong in some slightly more grown up adventures, my 9 year old loved revisiting the characters. Perfect stories for 7years and up, perfect for reading alone :
