Summer Skirts
Here, as previously mentioned are a couple of simple summer skirts for Fairy-pants.
Lovely floral fabrics with a gathered elasticated waist, on the cream and purple skirt a matching ribbon has been threaded through the waistband with the elastic and tied in a pretty bow.

Beautiful Books
Just a couple of lovely and inspiring books :
'Cath Kidson In Print' - Glorious colours and prints and lots of quirky ideas for recycling fabrics yourself at home,I love it!
'Sock and Glove' by Miyako Kanamori - A really sweet Japanese book that has been translated into English, sweet soft toys created from socks and gloves, lovely illustrations and easy to follow instructions. Perfect craft activities for adult and child to work on together...lots of fun for all the family!
Sunshine
Lovely weather of late, Saturday was gorgeous, managed to get through a tonne of laundry...did a bit of hand sewing and made an elephant toy from an unused walking sock - unfortunately Fairy-pants snagged it before I hid in my Craft Fair box, I'm not so bothered really as it does look a little amateur...My youngest has been ill the last few days with a sore throat, this morning he has taken to using sign language and writing his never-ending requests for supplies down in his notebbook, which he waves at me wildly every time I pass by...thankfully he can only manage fluids at the moment so it's not too bad...when he starts ordering Triple Cheese Pizza with Hummus on the side it will be time to send him back to school but for now he remains wrapped in his favourite blanket watching inane cartoons, flicking constantly between channels - it has become a habit of his recently and although it is annoying, I much prefer it to his previous nose picking and nail biting habits.
During a room-tidy that ended rather abruptly Fairy-pants found her long lost chalk collection and spent saturday afternoon, rather artistically decorating the back garden...it reminded me of doing the same thing when I was a child (probably a teenager actually)....she enjoyed her little self and didn't seem to mind when yesterday's shower washed it all away...Meanwhile number one child was at OT with her dad watching the us win the match in the sunshine - good day all round I'd say...

Back to school
All three will be back to school tom. morn - back to the old routine and time to catch up on some bedroom clearing, how exciting that will be - really can't wait!
Have had a lovely Easter break, lots of sunshine and plenty of digging and sowing on the plot. The first lot of potatoes are in as well as peas, salad leaves, b.root, onions, garlic, carrots, parsnips...and tom. will be putting my sweet peas in, my favourite !
This weekend Fairy-pants and I made Nettle Soup, gorgeous - a recipe from 'Grow Your Own Drugs'(James Wong)and today a gorgeous vege pie made from nettles, sweet potatoe, onions and garlic - totally delish...
I've just taken a Cranberry frutloaf out of the oven - for tommorrow's lunchboxes, just a treat for the girls first day back, it smells lovely! So lots of creativity in the kitchen going on...
Last week managed to finish two summer skirts for Fairypants to wear on our hols next month, very pleased with the way they turned out - pics to follow...
